Rock Ridge is on the NE corner of the property. No deer has ever been shot from this stand but it is not far from where I killed my big 10 pointer. I believe that this area was never hunted correctly and could be very productive. The is an excellent travel corridor to bedding areas. The stand could be better located in the beech tree across the trail from the current location. However the beech tree is very big around and hard to place a stand in. We decide to leave the stand in the same tree as last year for this reason. Cover is not good but you are 25 to 30 feet about the trail.

Rock Ridge is the new name for the area that was formerly known as the Northeast Corner. I named it after the town in the movie "Blazing Saddles", and that the beech tree at the end of the skidder path is on a big hill looking like a rock. This is the stand that was put here for the 2006-07 season. It was hunted 4 times this past season all in the afternoon and no deer were seen. Although the beech tree would be a better tree for the stand, time restraints and wanting to keep out the area have made me take a step backwards. I will coninue to use the old stand but hunt primarily in the mornings.
