This year I decide to try something a little different. I placed a feeder out of range (My range about 45 yards) in hopes that if a buck would enter the field it would avoid the feeder and come to my stand. There has never been a feeder in the T-Plot before this year. Feeders bring the does in but most of the time 2.5 yo's and older don't want anything to do with the feeders. Below is a picture of the feeder the day I killed "Black Nose" and there are two does, a fawn, and a spike near the feeder. The picture is taken from my stand. The next deer to enter the plot was "Black Nose". These 4 deer alerted me to his presence and when he actually entered the plot from the south all of them ran to the north end of the plot some leaving the plot all together. The buck acted exactly like I suspected he would and watched the feeder constantly while wlaking sideways toward my stand. More deer entered the plot after he got under my stand as I saw another unfamiliar doe with a spotted fawn. The doe actually walked behind the buck and he moved forward enough for me to make the shot. The shot felt good and for once I could see my arrow enter the deer. It cut both lungs and scraped the heart. The buck jumper over the little bottom seperating the plot and bucked twice while in the air. He ran to the old 3-trees stand and followed the path down the hill. he was about 20 yards down when I heard him crash. There were a few other deer entering and looking onto the plot after I made the shot including a six pointer I named "Cut Off". I was thinking about trying to get a double but I am glad I didn't do I can save a doe for later in the season. The picture below is the buck passing by the WOWOWO stand where there was no food and he continued on to the food plot. The buck I shot is all the way to the left. The date and time are off on the camera. It should have read 10/18/08 at 5:41 pm Shown in the top picture is the entrance wound. MUZZY 3 Blade.....No blood on the plot but it was a fair blood trail starting at the edge. I heard him crash which was a great sound for me. Also shown is Kevin's doe shot from the killing Tree. He also got both lungs and sliced the heart. His blood trail with a 2 blade Rage was about 8" wide all the way to the deer. It didn't begin until she hit the cutover though.
