October 21, 2009 from the Killing Tree on a morning hunt Mikey Galiano killed his first deer by bow. Mikey came with his dad, T-Mike last year. Mikey impressed me a lot with his restraint last year. He saw a few yearling bucks and let them walk even though a doe or 2.5 yo buck did not come in range. He is a young man that anyone would be proud to call his son and T-Mike has a right to be proud of him. This year he was the only one seeing deer form the stand. On the first hunt he was not presented with a good shot so he held back. On the morning hunt the next day he saw how hard it is to draw back on a mature doe. He got busted. The third day on the morning hunt he did everything right. He even picked the doe that I wanted out the herd because she hadn't had a fawn in two years. When he returned to the camp that morning he was unsure of his shot because the arrow didn't pass through and the hit looked a little high. We waited a while to give the doe a chance to died while we ate breakfast. After that we followed the blood trail about 50 yards into the cutover and found her laying on top of a little hill. His shot was perfect going in high and coming out low. Congrats Mikey on a fine trophy.
