It all started on friday arrived at my 31 acre ranch ha ha at 4:30 pm got dressed. Went to the front plot got in the blind we maid 3 weeks ago tried calling for about 1hr . Got a lil cool so we went back to the camp put on a jacket started toward back plot when we got to the 2 hunderd yard rd i heard a turkey fly up toward the corner of my land walked in about 15 yards seen 2 turkeys on the ground i told justin to freeze then all hell broke lose turkeys started calling and flying in to trees all around us we watch for about 10 minutes tried to make one gobble no luck. We backed out and went to the back plot tried hooting some more called in 2 owls. That ended friday eve. We talked about the game plan saturday we had 2 choices as i seen it sit on the front plot or go strait to the turkeys the problem with going strait to the turkeys was most of them were not on my land. the front plot was only 75 yards away so the plot it was we woke up at 5;30 the sun was already peeking out as we shut the door to the camp we heard the first gobble of the day we skooted to the front plot Justin and I set up 2 decoys 1 hen and 1 jake and settled in for the morning hunt with turkeys gobbling the hole time I waited to they stopped gobbling and maid my first call of the day I was happy to hear a gobble in return. after about 3 minutes it seemed as the toms had hit the ground and it got quit I maid a couple of soft calls and we just sat there at about 7 oclock 2 hens crossed the plot at about 15 yards they ate and walked at 7.15 i maid a lost hen call and waited at 7.25 I seen what looked like i toms head in the corner of the plot but it didn,t move when i turn to look in a another direction Justin said i see some turkeys I looked in the corner and the toms started pouring out of the corner WHAT A SITE 5 toms in all came out 2 of them struting all 5 toms were in ball about 3 foot around Justin ask if he should put his gun up i said no not yet [mistake] the toms went strait to the jake decoy witch was to the right of our shooting lane and justin was on my right at this point the hens started pouring out of the corner about 15 of them ok back to the toms they looked like they were getting out of dodge I told JUSTIN its time to shoot but he said he could not turn and shoot OK IAM going nuts about now Itold Justin I was going to take one he said ok what a man so I pointed my dads old 20 gauge at one of those toms and let it go.At that point 1 of the toms gobbled and they jumped up landed right back down I moved to my left about 4 feet and pulled Justin with me and told him to shoot one he pointed and waited a sec Itold him theres one on the right he said he did not see it and then he let the 10 gauge turkey trimmer go the tom on the right flew away I thought he missed then Justin got up and ran out 47 yards and stepped on the head of his first gobbler WHAT A DAY two toms on the ground MY son will never forget that hunt and I no I won"t
