9/11/10 I met Kevin at the camp at 6:00 am. He immediately started disking the East Side. I started hauling seed back at forth to their proper planting areas. After disking all areas which didn't take long Levin when to change implements on the tractor to the spreader. First spreading was the 13-13-13 on the east side. Then the south side of the E-Plot with corn. I am hoping this will become a small stging area if it grows tall enough. I am not looking to make ears. Second was winter wheat at Koltons Korner. Here sething happened to twist the shaft off onthe spreader. Off we go to the Coop in Slaughter to pick up a new one. While ther I picked up 10 sacks of deer corn.
Back to the land and my neighbor, Scott, was working on my roads. Man he did a great job. He know the land and knows how to keep it from washing away. It took a couple of trips back and forth to the camp to get tools to get the spreader back working again. Kevin spread 1 sack wheat between KK, the Beech Tree Plot, and Trader Park.
Next was 1 sack of IC Peas near the killing tree, then 2 sacks BF oats. Topped off with some beams and turnips Kevin had bought, 4lbs white clover and 3 lbs chickory.

9/11/10 continued...
The west side was planted with 1 sack of IC peas near 4-Trees, Lone Oak, and the Shaking Tree. 2 sacks of BF oats and 2 sacks of winter wheat was planted over the entire west side plots more heavily near the 3 stands. Topped off with 4 lbs white clover and 3 lbs chickory.
Pulled TC pics but nothing above a 6 point and plenty of hogs. I was worn out from dragging the harrow and the chain link fence over the plots. coiln't hardly walk after I got home. Had a good positive feeling now that the seed is in the ground. Praying for rain.
Almost forgot, the 4 shoats that were hanging around after theirorher was killed were caught by Scott usingy trap set at South Fork.

9/21/10 I got to the camp shortly after noon. I hauled 8 sacks of corn and filled the three automatic feeders, checked the batteries and times. I pulled the TC pics and the Soggy bottom Buck is back but only one visit with two pictures. Hogs Hogs everywhere. I could tell they were in the trap because they pulled the trip wire. Trap was tied open though. Plenty of daytime visits both morning and evening. I baited up using just about all the rest of the acorns Rambow had given me. They sure love them.
The original intention was to spend the night and hit the hogs in the morning but I will wait until openning day to hit them. That way both Eddie and I can each kill one.

9/30/10 After spending 8 days in the house with cellulites, I was able to go hunting with a clean bill of health. I made stops at the bank, grocery, Golden Corral, Home Depot, St. Francisville Market, Feed Store then the camp. I forgot to fill the 4-Wheeler with gas before I went to the back so I ran out of gas at the bottom of Grand Canyon. Walked back to the camp and got the gas can and walked back to the bike and filled it up. I pulled TC pics at E-Plot, South end of W-Plot, and T-Plot. Baited up those spots and the hog trap but left the door tied open.
On the way back to the camp there were twin fawns at Trader Park. I checked out the pics, tried the new broad heads on my arrows and they shot really well. Also shot the three blade Muzzy and it was on also. Called my brother Ed to find out when he was coming. He said about 8:30 tonight so I went back to town and picked up more food.
Tonight I am getting all my gear lined up for the morning hunt. Good possibility of a few hogs. I soured some corn to bait the trap for tomorrow so that deer won’t go into it. Time to cut back on those hogs any way I can.
