February 11, 2010 I had gone to the land to check the hog trap and change trail camera disks. I really didn’t expect to catch anything but was surprised to see a sow and eight piglets in the trap. By the time Rambow came to help two of the piglets had gotten out. Seven pigs were enough to clean though.

October 2, 2010Eddie hunted the Killing Tree in the evening. He had several deer in front of him and the 6 point named “Lefty” still in velvet stepped out in front of him. He shot and missed, or so we thought, and later the 8 point named “Knuck” stepped out and Eddie shot him. This was Eddie’s largest buck with a bow thus far and we had a very hard time blood trailing him. Eddie stuck with it hard and we finally picked up a good blood trail and we found him near the creek.

October 3, 2010We had been setting the hog trap at South Fork. We caught two nice Shoats that had been hanging around. This was good to mix with the 8 point Eddie killed the day before.

October 16, 2010I opened doe season on the land on October 15th and decided to take does this year. I was hunting the Shaking Tree on the T-Plot and she gave me a 15 yard shot. She ran into the cutover to the north and fell in the Wagon Trail. Cro helped me pull her up and drag her out. She ws the first deer I killed with my Magnus Buzzcut Broadheads.

December 5, 2010I was hunting the Killing Tree and this doe gave me a great opportunity. I shot a little further back than I wanted to but it was a perfect shot going right into the vitals. Even though the entry was almost on the top of the deer there was a very good blood trail. She went about 40 yards and fell almost next to the Creek Rd.

January 1,2011I was hunting the Killing Tree again and still buckless for the year. I wanted to just shoot 3.5 yo bucks but this guy just came out when I was wanting a buck bad. I spined it and it fell where I shot it. It crawled a little into the cutover where I finished him off.

January 2, 2011It was late in the hunt on the Killing Tree and I was starting to pick up my stuff. He walked out and I took him with my .243 cal. He was never caught on trail camera.

January 21, 2011I was on the way to the camp and hit this little doe with my truck. I picked it up to see if there was any salvageable meat but it was completely destroyed.

January 22, 2011Cro was hunting 4-Trees and three deer walked out on him. I was watching from the W-Plot Box Stand when he shot. She was easy to find and ended a long bad streak for Cro.

January 29, 2011Paul was hunting the W-Plot Box. He saw a good buck earlier but it was still to dark. Then he saw a good size hog which actually chased away the first buck. A little later “Wrap” a buck which Cro had shot earlier in the year stepped out and made a scrape at the red oak on the T-Plot. Paul shot him with his ML.
